Description: This fish is well adaptable to the aquarium environment. It will tolerate a wide variety of water conditions and will readily breed in captivity.

Breeding Information: As this fish is a livebearer the female is fertilized directly by the male. The gestation period is about 8 weeks. Provide plenty of cover for the fry once they are born, but they are usually large enough to avoid being eaten by their parents.
Sexing Information: Females tend to be larger with less blue in their tails. The males have a modified anal fin with a gonopodium.
Diet: Omnivorous - Does well with flake food
