Description: The zebra danio is inexpensive and easy to keep. It is an excellent fish for a beginner. Available in an albino (Golden) variation. The wild and golden types both have a long fin variation.

Breeding Information: Relatively easy to breed. A lot of information is available on the breeding of Zebra Danios. Use warmer 78°F water, well planted with finely leaved vegetation. The baby Zebra Danios grow quickly and reach maturity within eight months. Photoperiod is very important 14 hours of light and 10 hours of dark will induce spawning.
Sexing Information: The male has smaller yellow lines between its black lines, while the females have a background of silver. Females are also more rounded.
Diet: Omnivorous - does well with flake food
