Description: Although this fish can be acclimated to freash water it will be much more heathly in brackish water. Brackish water is made by adding 1 teaspoon of salt per gallon of water. This is one of the few native Asian cichlid species. In its native range, it is used as a food fish.

Breeding Information: Brackish water needed for health of eggs. Parents lay eggs on precleaned flat surface and raise fry in pits dug in subsrate.
Sexing Information: No known way to determine visually.
Diet: Carnivorous - does well with flake or pellet foods supplimented with frozen or live worms.
Temperment: Generally peaceful for a cichlid, but may still eat fish small enough to fit in it's mouth.
Common Diseases: None specific to species.
