When scared they swim to the bottom of the tank, althoughn ormally they swim at the top. One thing they might do is to play in the water currents. They go up to the top of the tank and swim against the current made by an air filter. Sometimes it may look like they're be stuck in the current, but don't worry, they're not. Females are deeper bodied than males. Put next to each other the male and female can easily be distinguished from each other. Black Neons lower half of their body is black. The top half is tan in color. The two halves are separated by a white line. The top of the eye is a bright reddish orange color, and seems to glow in certain lights. The fins have no color.
